The feature race is expected to cap off what has been a fantastic week in the Cotswolds, which saw Rachael Blackmore stake her claim as the top jockey of the meet and the bookies take a battering. The drama began in the first as odds-on favourite Envoi Allen fell at the fourth and ended in the last as Mount Ida climbed from the back of the group to claim victory.
Gold Cup favourite Al Boum Photo vying for a third success – matching Best Mate’s record – and is expected to be pushed all the way by Nicky Henderson’s strong hand Champ and Santini. Blackmore will be hoping to make history on A Plus Tard.
But the action kicked off a couple of hours earlier with the Triumph Hurdle, which – who else – Blackmore won with Quilixios.

Keep an eye on Betfair’s five-place market. Santini is evens, Native River 11-10 and Champ 4-6 for the British trainers.
Only eight minutes to the Gold Cup. I like Champ to run a big race.
Gavin Cromwell added: “He had a bug after the last race. He’s done so well to bounce back so quick. We’ve been really happy with him the last two weeks.”
What a Gold Cup we have in store.
Mark Walsh said afterwards to Racing TV: “It’s unfortunate for Jonathan, missing two good winners. I am glad he made the decision he did! He said he could be a bit lazy today but he was actually the opposite.”
Vanillier was always handy and won well, Mark Walsh deputising for the injured Jonathan Moore. How unlucky has he been!
Fakiera is just ahead of Stattler in the market here. Barbados Bucks (9-1) bids to get Paul Nicholls off the mark this week.
I think Vanillier can out-run his odds here. Gavin Cromwell reports that he is working very well. He is a 15-1 chance on Betfair. We are jumping off in 12 minutes.
