HotBox and Bob’s Lobster partner to launch at-home box in aid of homelessness

Shoreditch smokehouse HotBox has partnered with London Bridge seafood spot Bob’s Lobster for a new at-home box being sold partly in support of homeless charity The Passage.

For every box sold, the restaurants will donate £10 to the charity, and every delivery will include an invite to a virtual supper club on April 8, in which The Passage’s Jenny Travassos will chat with Rob Dann of Bob’s Lobster and HotBox’s Lewis Spencer about hospitality and the homeless.

The £80, six-course box for two will include lobster and crayfish croquettes, bone marrow loaded with onions washed with ale and grilled, tuna tostadas and smoked brisket tacos, with a New York-style cheesecake to finish. A pre-mixed margarita or a bottle of Champagne can also added. Orders can be made from now until April 2, with deliveries on April 7.

The box marks something of a reunion for Bob’s, Hotbox and The Passage, who previously hosted cook-a-longs at Taste of London in 2019, with all the profits from the festival pop-up going to the charity. The supper club, meanwhile, marks the first in a planned series from The Passage, which hopes to launch in-person events later in the year to bring awareness to its work on the streets, feeding, housing and supporting London’s homeless population.
