Is SNL New Tonight? Here’s What We Know About the Next Episode

Update, Saturday, March 13: Will there be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight, March 13? No, but that’s only because we’re still in hiatus mode. SNL will return with a new episode on Saturday, March 27. The next episode will be hosted by cast alum Maya Rudolph with musical guest Jack Harlow.

Previously: Will there be a new episode of Saturday Night Live on Saturday, March 6? Unfortunately, there will not be a new episode of SNL because the hit NBC comedy series is on hiatus until later this month. However, we do know who will be hosting the next episode of SNL: Maya Rudolph. News of Rudolph’s hosting gig emerged last week on SNL‘s Instagram and Twitter feeds. Rudolph will be hosting the March 27 show with musical guest Jack Harlow.

Truly, there couldn’t be anything better than breaking a month-long SNL hiatus with Rudolph. Earlier in Season 46, this beloved SNL alum was spicing it up as Vice President Kamala Harris alongside Jim Carrey (and later, current cast member Alex Moffat) as President Joe Biden. It’s quite possible Rudolph and Moffat will trot out their famous characters for the March 27 show. (I hope they do.) What will be most exciting, though, is seeing what new sketches will be cooked up and what cultural moments those sketches will riff on.

The last show before SNL went on a month-long hiatus was hosted by Nick Jonas. Among the highlights of Jonas’s February 27 episode was a sketch about a case of mistaken identity involving Prince Charming and Cinderella’s glass slipper, an appearance from Jonas’s brother, Kevin Jonas, and an incredible sketch about women who love Netflix murder shows. And, as if Jonas running around the SNL stage performing in multiple sketches wasn’t enough, he was also the February 27 musical guest, too.

Jonas’s hosting gig capped off a rather terrific February for SNL. Before Jonas, SNL was hosted by Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page. Page showed off his comedy chops with a Bridgerton sketch, a saucy opening monologue, and a sketch dedicated to the transformative power of the British accent. Page’s hosting gig was one of the best episodes thus far in Season 46, with episodes hosted by Regina King and Schitt’s Creek alum Dan Levy coming in close behind.

Saturday Night Live airs on Saturdays at 11:30 pm ET/8:30 pm PT. All previous episodes of Saturday Night Live Season 46 are available to stream on Peacock and Hulu.
